Colorado Imaging Associates Uterine Fibroid Education Campaign

Colorado Imaging Associates (CIA) is a group of radiologist who read, interpret, and report the findings of diagnostic imaging tests preformed at their partner locations. Interventional Radiology is one of CIA’s specialities. Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE) is a fairly unknown treatment for Uterine Fibroids, a benign (non-cancerous) tumors that grow on or within the lining of the uterus. Approximately 20-40% of women over age 35 have fibroids, and African-American women are at a much higher risk for developing them, but UFE can yield remarkable results in reducing the size or getting rid of fibroids while also being an outpatient, minimally invasive, interventional radiology option. CIA wanted to bring more prescriber and patient awareness UFE treatment.

My team launched a patient and provider education campaign including a brand new website for CIA with an interventional radiology services section, patient brochure, advertising, waiting room posters, a doc-to-doc letter and geofencing/mobile advertising. The results of the campaign resulted in about 20 UFE patient referrals in a 3 month period (a 300% increase).
